Belinda Birtles
Philosophy and vision
Belinda has worked extensively with individuals experiencing mental health concerns. Her primary interest is within the LGBTIQ community, in particular transgender patients.
She is passionate about mental health and offers compassionate psychotherapy for people with a wide range of issues. Within the therapeutic space Belinda strives to create a safe, respectful and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel confident to speak freely and openly about their concerns.
Background
Belinda has worked within the public system for over 13 years (The Prince Charles Hospital, Nundah Adult Mental Health Service). She now concentrates upon her private practice (Brisbane Southside Psychology) and is the Clinical Supervisor for the Brisbane Branch of Diverse Voices which is a national LGBTIQ web and phone counselling service.

Therapy approach
Belinda works within a Psychodynamic approach which she finds useful in assisting clients to alleviate stress within their current circumstances.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy allows deeper exploration of your experience of yourself, others and the world around you. This in turn can promote self growth and alleviate psychological symptoms.
